1. Accepting these terms
By creating or joining a room, downloading LudoRoam, hosting it on a local network, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use LudoRoam.
If you use LudoRoam for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. LudoRoam is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age at which you can consent to online services where you live, use LudoRoam only with authorization and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a child's use, especially optional player photos, chat, voice and video.
3. The service
LudoRoam provides temporary multiplayer Ludo rooms for two to four players, including optional computer opponents, house rules, chat, voice and video. No account is required. Features may differ between the public online service, native apps and self-hosted LAN editions.
LudoRoam is entertainment only. It does not provide gambling, wagering, cash prizes or anything of monetary value based on game outcomes.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, impersonate or abuse another player;
- send unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, invasive or infringing names, photos, chat, audio or video;
- upload a person's photo or transmit their voice/video without permission;
- cheat by interfering with the game service, impersonating another player or exploiting a security weakness;
- probe, overload, automate access to, reverse engineer for abuse, or disrupt the public service;
- share malware, malicious links or content that violates another person's rights; or
- use LudoRoam in violation of applicable law.
Room hosts may choose house rules and end or restart a game. Those controls do not authorize harmful conduct or override these Terms.
5. Names, photos, chat and media
You keep ownership of content you provide. You grant LudoRoam a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process and display that content only as needed to operate your room, provide the feature you selected, protect the service and comply with law. This licence ends when the content is deleted from active systems, subject to reasonable backup and log cycles.
People in your room can see player names, photos, chat and game activity. Voice and video are sent peer-to-peer, but another player may independently capture them. Share only what you are comfortable showing to everyone at the table.
6. Room and device security
You are responsible for keeping room codes, player sessions and one-time device-transfer links secure. Anyone with an active room code may attempt to join an available seat, and anyone with a valid transfer link may take over that player once before it expires.
For LAN games, trust only a short-lived certificate obtained directly from the person hosting that game. Do not install a certificate from an unknown source or treat a LudoRoam host certificate as a general certificate authority.
7. Downloads and open-source software
Preview desktop downloads may not be signed or notarized by the operating-system publisher. Verify checksums from the official download page and follow the security notice included with the build. You are responsible for the device and network on which you run a self-hosted edition.
The LudoRoam source code is available under the Apache License 2.0. That licence governs copying, modification and distribution of the source code; these Terms govern use of the hosted service and player-facing features.
8. Availability and changes
We may update, suspend or discontinue any part of LudoRoam, impose reasonable technical limits, or block activity that threatens players or the service. Temporary rooms can expire, connections can fail and game state may be lost. Do not rely on LudoRoam to preserve records or content.
Third-party platforms such as Vercel, Google Cloud, Google Analytics and PostHog have their own terms and availability. LudoRoam is not responsible for services outside its control.
9. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LudoRoam is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, permanent room storage, compatibility with every device, or that peer-to-peer media will work on every network.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LudoRoam and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, lost data, lost profits, device or network problems, or another player's conduct arising from use of the service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited only to the extent the law allows. Nothing limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any other liability that applicable law does not permit us to limit.
11. Ending use and resolving concerns
You may stop using LudoRoam at any time. We may restrict access to the public service when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect players or comply with law. Provisions that naturally continue—including ownership, disclaimers and liability limits—survive termination.
Before starting a formal dispute, please contact Samuel Aidoo through @_samuelaidoo on X and provide a clear description without posting private room credentials. Applicable law and any mandatory consumer protections where you live continue to apply.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as LudoRoam changes. The effective date will be revised, and material changes will be communicated through the website or another reasonable notice. Continuing to use LudoRoam after updated Terms take effect means you accept them, where permitted by law.
